Guided Tours
For primary schools
The tour is focussed more on the kitchen garden and is complemented with a vegetal ink or cooking
workshop. Play activities related to the gardens are also offered. Other themes can be developed for
other age groups.
For secondary schools
The team at the chateau offers guided tours based on the story of ‘Guy de Maupassant, writer
from the XIX century’. This visit goes for classes that study Guy de Maupassant’s writings. Different
documents from the XIX century introduce the life of the writer: birth certificate, letters, and
pictures. An exhibition realised by the Teaching Commission of the Regional Documentation Centre
in Rouen ‘The Normand settings through Maupassant’s works’ fulfil the visit. The history of the castle
and the chapel (architecture and famous lords) is broached during the visit.
For families
For children, an ‘exploration booklet’ is given and let them discover the park and gardens. Riddles
based on observation, touching, orienteering are to be resolved.
